Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at our Level II Trauma Center. You will provide perioperative care and first‑assist support across multiple specialties in elective and emergent settings.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years' surgical experience and teamwork with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and anesthesiologists. Epic EMR is used in daily practice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases across specialties (general, trauma, ortho, neurosurgery, bariatric).
• Perform intraoperative skills such as suturing, wound closure and tissue handling.
• Participate in surgical rounding, documenting and communicating patient progress.
• Work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, anesthesiologists, and other team members.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols.

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a skilled and motivated Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at our Level II Trauma Center in Pocatello, Idaho. This opportunity will provide perioperative care and first-assist support for a variety of surgical specialties, contributing to high-quality patient care in both elective and emergent settings.

About Your Work

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases for variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including general surgery, trauma, orthopedic, neurosurgery, bariatric and other subspecialties as needed
• Perform intraoperative technical skills such as suturing, wound closure and tissue handling
• Participate in surgical rounding, documenting and communicating with patient progress
• Work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, anesthesiologists and other team members
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols
• Excellent support staff
