Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at our Level II Trauma Center. This role provides perioperative care and first-assist support across specialties in elective and emergent settings.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of surgical experience and be able to serve as a first/second assist while collaborating with surgeons, residents, and anesthesia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical experience required.
• Eligible to serve as first or second assist on a range of procedures.
• Perioperative care and collaboration with surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases across specialties.
• Perform intraoperative suturing, wound closure, and tissue handling.
• Participate in surgical rounding and document patient progress.
• Collaborate with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and anesthesia.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to protocols.
