Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking a Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our surgical team at the Level II Trauma Center. This role provides perioperative care and first‑assist support across multiple specialties in elective and emergent cases.

You will work closely with surgeons, residents and staff, perform intraoperative suturing and tissue handling, participate in rounds, and contribute to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ surgical experience required.
• Performs intraoperative suturing, wound closure, and tissue handling.
• First or second assist on procedures across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases in general, trauma, ortho, neurosurgery and other subspecialties.
• Perform intraoperative tasks such as suturing and tissue handling.
• Participate in surgical rounding and documenting patient progress.
• Work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, anesthesiologists and other team members.
