Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a 36-hour per week, full-time, on-site role with a day schedule and benefits.

The position requires NC RN licensure, a board-approved nursing education program graduate, BLS, and 1 year of nursing experience. Bachelor’s in Nursing is required within seven years of employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after Jan 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years and obtain a Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing within seven years of employment.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - identifies learning needs and attends education programs.
• Evaluation of Care - participates in evaluation of patient care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation - provides care for patients with complex problems and follows policies and procedures.
• Leadership - supports professional growth and promotes interdepartmental collaboration.

• Planning - collaborates with patient/family to update the plan of care.
• Research - reads journals and discusses applicability to practice.
