UNC Health's Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit in Chapel Hill is seeking a registered nurse with stepdown experience to join a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma team. This 36-hour-per-week role offers three 12-hour shifts, day/night/weekend rotations, and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will provide competent clinical nursing care, coordinate plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver Carolina Care around the clock.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years and obtain a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Nursing within seven years of employment.

Responsabilités

• Evaluation of care — identifies expected outcomes; collaborates with the inter-disciplinary team to evaluate care and promote continuity.
• Implementation — delivers care for patients with complex problems; performs bedside testing and follows policies; prioritizes tasks and consults resources.
• Leadership — supports professional growth, communicates effectively, and promotes cost-efficient care; provides feedback to coworkers.
• Patient assessment — recognizes data to determine care priorities and plans for discharge needs.
• Planning — collaborates with patient/family to plan care; uses multidisciplinary resources and respects cultural considerations.
• Research — reads journals and shares applicable ideas with the team.
