Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH seeks an Inpatient Trauma/Trauma & Surgical ICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver direct, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in collaboration with Trauma Surgery physicians.

You will participate in rounds, interpret labs and imaging, and manage complex postoperative cases across multiple surgical specialties while maintaining high-quality documentation and care plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in PA, AGACNP, or ACNP.
• National certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN.
• Ohio licensure eligibility for PA or NP and DEA registration.
• Current BLS; ATLS certification within 180 days.
• Sterile techniques and aseptic practices.
• Eligibility for hospital privileges and credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with trauma attending physicians and team to complete daily rounds on trauma and ICU.
• Interpret labs/imaging to develop assessments and care plans.
• Manage complex postoperative and medically fragile patients across trauma, acute care surgery, transplant, vascular, and general surgery.
• Perform bedside procedures for surgical and non-surgical patients.
• Complete timely documentation and carry out care plans.
• Develop disposition plans with multidisciplinary team.
• Respond to trauma in resuscitation bay; perform trauma surveys and stabilize high-acuity patients per ATLS.
• Promote patient advocacy and community health.
