Job summary

Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care team. You will care for high-acuity patients in a Level I Trauma Center, with a mix of trauma and ICU duties and teaching responsibilities.

Expect 13-hour day shifts, 6:00–6:30 AM starts, and a schedule planned 6 months in advance.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required for NP or PA role.
• ACNP/AGACNP certification or NCCPA certification preferred depending on track.
• Minimum 1 year of ACNP/AGACNP or PA experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical assessments.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care.
• Manage critical illness and traumatic injury conditions and comorbidities.
• Manage ventilator settings and vasopressor therapy.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, APPs, nurses, and care team.
• Rotate between Trauma and Surgical Critical Care service lines.
• Participate in education of trainees and Fellows.
