Job summary

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Trauma Surgery service. The APP will manage trauma/general surgery patients, perform pre/post‑op care, and participate in procedures as the service grows.

The role requires APC experience in a surgical setting, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team committed to high‑quality, evidence‑based care.

Qualifications

• APP experience, ideally in a trauma surgery setting.
• Ability to work autonomously in a high‑acuity environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and collaboration with surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document health histories and perform focused physical exams.
• Collaborate with physicians to plan care and manage patients in inpatient trauma/general surgery.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures and manage treatments.
• Prescribe interventions within scope and ensure evidence‑based care.
• Maintain documentation and participate in professional development.
