Job summary

Prevea Health in Green Bay, Wisconsin seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) in Trauma to join the Surgical team. The role involves pre-operative assessments, assisting in procedures, and post-operative care for both inpatient and outpatient settings.

As part of the trauma service, you will collaborate with physicians, manage patient records, order diagnostics as appropriate, and provide education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures as a first or second assist, adhering to aseptic techniques and surgical protocols.
• Perform surgical procedures under supervision or independently, as per scope of practice and credentialing.
• Provide postoperative follow-up care, including wound management, suture/staple removal, and patient education.
• Also provides services as appropriate to assigned specialty, which may include the ordering of appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, the prescription of pharmacological agents, and other non-pharmacological treatment modalities.
• Provides assessment, evaluation, and management to patients that may include but is not limited to minor, acute, chronic, & episodic illness & injuries.
• Including performance of follow up exams if required.
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting all details in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians and other providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes of patients.
• Provides case management services to assist clients and families with the arrangement for, or refer patients to needed services.
• Collaborates with patients to review their health background and wellness provide health counseling and education to determine physiological, emotional, and environmental needs, using this information to advise patients and their families on future health plans and illness...
