Job summary

UT Tyler School of Medicine, in collaboration with UT Health East Texas, seeks a Full-Time Trauma Surgery Physician to join our Level I trauma center team in Tyler, TX. The role combines clinical trauma care, teaching residents, and research within a dynamic academic environment.

You will cover trauma and emergency general surgery, participate in ATLS instruction, and collaborate with a five-physician trauma group with plans to expand.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in surgery from ABMS/ABOS.
• Completion of a General Surgery residency from an ACGME-accredited program.
• Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma with Critical Care certification.
• Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Critical Care and surgical management of trauma patients, including neurotrauma and complex ICU cases.
• Teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students.
• Participation in research projects.
• ATLS instruction.
