Job summary

Effingham Hospital is seeking a Trauma/Stroke Coordinator under the direction of the Director of Nursing to maintain trauma center verification and designation. Responsibilities include data collection, abstracting records, and generating reports to support performance improvement and injury prevention initiatives.

The role requires strong critical thinking, staff education, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain an unencumbered State of Georgia Registered Nurses License, Basic Healthcare BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, NIHSS certification and PALS. CEN Preferred.
• Education level equivalent to completion of high school, and completion of an accredited registered nursing program; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop trauma care goals and objectives.
• Coordinate policies & procedures for trauma patient care.
• Serve as liaison between departments and external agencies.
• Lead Trauma Team activities and performance improvement efforts.
• Coordinate statewide trauma system designation preparation and audits.
