Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of nursing experience in trauma/emergency care.
• Must be able to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate programs in an Emergency Department.
• Ability to function in a highly complex environment and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and planning of goals and objectives related to trauma care.
• Coordinates with medical staff and leadership to assess policies and protocols for trauma patients.
• Assists with development of policies based on best practices and literature.
• Represents the Trauma Program on hospital committees to enhance trauma care management.
• Coordinates preparation for statewide trauma system designation site visits.
• Develops collaborative relationships across departments to support trauma and stroke care.
• Monitors national and statewide trends in trauma/stroke care.
• Responds to trauma/stroke activations and assists the team as needed.
• Chair of the Trauma Team; supports staff education and annual competencies.
