Job summary

Advocate Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, seeks a dedicated RN for 11A Trauma Step-Down to provide specialized care for trauma patients. This full-time role is 40 hours weekly with dayshift, Monday through Friday, and occasional flexibility.

You will work within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 trauma center environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes and maintain compliance with nursing standards and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred; MSN within 5 years if not BSN.

Responsibilities

• Continually demonstrates and supports a Professional Practice model with interdisciplinary partners.
• Ensures unit operations comply with Nursing Practice Act and standards.
• Functions as a team member to achieve unit goals and maintain quality care.
• Recruits and retains qualified staff; facilitates orientation and development.
• Delegates effectively by promoting shared governance and research to improve outcomes.
• Performs nursing care and administers medications as needed.
• Educates patients and families and assesses education effectiveness.
• Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance care quality.
• Supports policy development based on evidence-based practice.
• Promotes shared accountability for professional practice.
• Manages resources and budget oversight for a cost-effective unit.
