Job summary

Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte seeks an experienced nurse to lead the 11A Trauma Step-Down unit. You will supervise nursing care for adolescent to geriatric patients and collaborate with the Surgical Trauma Service to maintain high-quality outcomes.

Graduate from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure is required; MSN preferred or enrolled, BLS in policy, and leadership experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• MSN preferred; MSN required within 5 years if undergraduate BSN.
• BLS certification required.
• Prior management or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Professional Practice and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners.
• Ensure compliance with Nursing Practice Act and standards.
• Recruit, orient, credential and develop staff.
• Delegate using shared governance and support research.
• Provide nursing care and administer medications.
• Support patient and family education and performance improvement activities.
• Develop policies reflecting evidence-based practice.
• Maintain unit budget and cost-effectiveness.
