Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Trauma Registrar RN to support the Trauma Program at the College Station Hospital. The role focuses on maintaining a complete, accurate trauma registry, abstracting cases from medical records, and ensuring data quality for regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and RN license required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
• Completion of AIS course within 12 months (AAAM AIS).
• ICD-10 coding certification within 12 months (ICD).
• Trauma Data Registry course within 12 months (TDRC).
• Within 36 months, obtain trauma registries certification or related course (CSTR).

Responsibilities

• Abstract trauma cases from the medical record and enter data accurately.
• Identify appropriate trauma cases for registry and ensure data completeness.
• Maintain trauma registry data for quality improvement and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure data confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff to clarify clinical information.
• Prepare and transmit trauma registry data to reporting entities.
• Support trauma program designation and regulatory requirements.
• Research trauma data to support program evaluation and quality initiatives.
