Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City seeks a Trauma Registrar II to ensure accurate data collection, coding (ICD-10) and AIS scoring for trauma/burn registries. You will collaborate with the trauma team to support PIPS, regulatory reporting, and national/state data submissions, maintaining registry quality and compliance.

This full-time role requires RHIT or related degree and trauma registry credentials; ACS TQIP participation and ongoing education are expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• RHIT or an associate degree in a health-related field required.
• Trauma experience and AIS/ISS familiarity preferred.
• CSTR/CAISS or equivalent trauma coding credentials within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Identify, log and create registry entries for trauma/burn patients.
• Perform chart analysis with ICD-10 and AIS 2005 coding.
• Collaborate with trauma team for PIPS program and data quality.
• Generate reports for quality improvement and epidemiology.
• Coordinate data submission to state and national registries.
