Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes R&D Engineering Co-op in West Chester, PA offers a full-time six-month internship for January 2027. Qualified students are pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with a mechanical design emphasis and must be authorized

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate in an accredited engineering program.
• Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering (Mechanical Design).
• Highly motivated; able to work independently.
• Interest in medical device/orthopedic fields.
• Hands-on engineer with creative problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design surgical implants and instruments using Creo.
• Draft protocols and fixtures, interpret results, and propose changes.
• Support verification activities: drawing reviews, tolerance analyses, testing, and FEA.
• Complete design risk assessments and propose solutions.
• Assist in end user assessments including cadaver labs.
