Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is offering a DePuy Synthes Shoulder Reconstruction R&D Co‑Op in Raynham, MA. The program supports design, testing and market introduction of implants and tools, with mentorship and an end-to-end product development experience.

Location is Raynham; a hybrid work arrangement is available from January to June 2027. You will work with engineers, surgeons and other stakeholders on multi-disciplinary product development tasks, and gain hands-on design control documentation

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with an interest in orthopedic medical devices and digital surgery techniques.
• Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Biomedical).
• 3-D modeling skills (NX Unigraphics & SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical testing.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate technical information.
• Previous co-op in R&D/manufacturing or equivalent at a medical device company preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full-time (40 hrs/week) during the Co-Op semester: January – June 2026.
• Location: Raynham, MA; must provide own transportation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Support and work with a multi-functional development team on design and market introduction of shoulder reconstruction implants and tools.
• Assist with design control documentation and testing reports.
• Lead portions of projects driving product development and value creation.
• Collaborate with surgeons in a cadaveric setting to assess device performance.
