Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI, seeks a Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to identify, verify, and investigate complications in trauma patients. Under supervision by Trauma Program Manager, you will analyze trends and lead PI activities from pre-hospital to discharge.

You will develop action plans, drive loop closure, and apply Lean/Six Sigma methods to reduce variability and errors. Strong data gathering, education, and communication across the trauma team are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years clinical experience; two years PM or process improvement.
  • Emergency Department or Trauma care experience preferred.
  • Experience with clinical quality and patient safety principles/initiatives; apply concepts.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • TOPIC certification preferred; must complete within one year of hire.
  • AIS Course required within one year of hire; updates may be required.
  • TCAR preferred; must complete within six months of hire.
  • Strong problem solving and time management; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong data gathering and analytical tool knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, verify, and investigate trauma patient complications and events.
  • Analyze trends and lead performance improvement activities for the trauma program.
  • Develop action plans and ensure loop closure for quality and risk issues.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations; provide team education as needed.
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce variability.
