Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the OR and provide intraoperative care. You will scrub in as second/third assistant under RN supervision, ensuring sterile technique and proper patient prep.

The role includes assisting with supplies, draping, positioning, and post-operative cleanup, with emphasis on patient safety and compliance with department policies. Certification and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• 15 CEs annually required to remain qualified as Surgical Technologist; NBSTSA/NCCT exempt if certified.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required.
• CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program required.
• Armed forces training program acceptable for qualification.
• Complete NBSTSA certifying exam required.
• Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification required.
• 1 year experience in patient care or ORT program required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room and provides intraoperative care.
• Checks supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and keeps linen, supplies, and instruments ready.
• Assists in patient prep, draping, and positioning for procedures.
• Counts sponges and sharps with RN before incision and after surgery.
• Prepares sterile dressings and assists with dressing/cast applications.
• Assists in preparing operative specimens for analysis.
• Participates in resuscitation procedures and maintains patient safety.

NBSTSA/NCCT certification

CAAHEP-accredited program

CPR/BLS certification

NBSTSA certifying exam
