Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a Unit Secretary for the 3W Trauma/Neuro Progressive Care Unit. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week, with 3:00pm-11:30pm shifts and rotation on evenings/weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High school level coursework in English grammar, composition, and basic mathematics.
• Six (6) months of either direct patient care experience or clerical office experience which has provided knowledge of utilizing a computer to access information.
• Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course or equivalent and a score of 70% or greater on a screening medical terminology test.

Responsibilities

• Performs and coordinates a variety of clerical duties, particularly in connection with preparing, compiling and maintaining of patient records; functions as a receptionist and communication link within a patient-care area.
• Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities under the direction of Registered Nurse, and patient care support duties related to environmental, dietary, transportation, supplies, and light maintenance activities.
