Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Shreveport, LA is seeking an RN for the Trauma Unit (MedSurg) on the nights shift 7p-7a. You will apply Nursing Process, assess and educate patients and families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Candidates must hold an RN license in the state, BLS, and a nursing degree; associates or bachelor’s preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills are required, with comfort using Windows-based systems and EHRs.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• RN Diploma is required; higher degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for diverse patients and families.
• Communicates, delegates and manages nursing team resources within the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Utilizes data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
