Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Unit (MedSurg) in Shreveport, LA. The role operates nights (7p-7a) and focuses on delivering patient-centered orthopedic care using the Nursing Process.

Qualifications

• RN Diploma required; BLS certification required; NY license or state RN license current in practice
• Current RN License in state of practice is required
• Excellent computer and data entry skills; proficient with Windows-based software
• Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to educate patients and families
• Good organizational, time management and multitasking abilities; demonstrates sound judgement

Responsibilities

• Uses the Nursing Process to deliver patient care and document outcomes
• Assesses learning needs and delivers teaching to patients and families
• Leads and delegates within the interdisciplinary nursing team
• Uses data and information to evaluate care quality and promote improvement
• Adapts care delivery to the patient population and adheres to privacy and regulatory standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
