Job summary

Good Shepherd Services in New York, NY is seeking a Recreation Specialist to design, implement, and lead recreational programs for residents, promoting self-development, healthy living, and positive social skills. You will collaborate with Youth Development staff and support the Sanctuary Model and Missouri Approach.

The role is 40 hours per week, on-site, with hours from 12 pm to 8 pm and possible weekend coverage during trips.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including evenings/weekends as needed.
• Experience with youth/community program activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and conduct programming in sports, fitness and performing arts in consultation with program leadership.
• Research resources and venues, maintain documentation of events and calendars.
• Organize and oversee cultural events, considering residents' cultural diversity.
• Coordinate with Development Department to plan corporate events and partnerships.
