Job summary

Good Shepherd Services is seeking a Relief Youth Development Counselor for roles in our Residential Programs. You will supervise residents, provide counseling, and uphold safety and trauma-informed practices.

On-site position with part-time hours; it requires flexibility for day, evening, or overnight shifts and occasional weekends. Candidates should be prepared to work within Sanctuary Model guidelines and foster non-violent, supportive environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must complete and pass required physical intervention training.
• Must pass a pre-hire physical ability test.
• Ability to perform physical restraint of youth using approved procedures.
• Sustained physical exertion with no limitations for intervention activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and be accountable for residents at all times.
• Manage residents' behavior and maintain order.
• Implement daily living routines, schedules and procedures.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness throughout the residence.
• Provide individual and group counseling and coordinate visits as needed.
• Maintain records and adhere to documentation requirements.
• Participate in educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Ensure care and supervision of supplies and equipment.
• Attend mandatory trainings and communicate with Good Shepherd staff.
