Job summary

Trinity Youth Services is seeking a Recreation Team Support Worker to engage foster youth ages 13–18 in structured recreational programs. You will create and monitor activities, supervise field trips, ensure dress code compliance, and support youth through trauma-informed care on a residential team.

The role emphasizes positive role modeling, clear communication in English, and a commitment to safety. A CA driver’s license and background checks are required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; plus one of: a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences or Child Development, prior group home/STRTP/substance abuse program experience, or lived experience in child welfare/mental health/juvenile justice system.
• Minimum 100 hours of relevant youth-focused experience (mentor, coach, teacher, tutor or counselor).
• Must be 21+ and pass physical, drug clearance, background and Child Abuse Index checks.
• Valid California driver's license with clean DMV history and insurability.
• Clear English communication (spoken and written); bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a recreation program under supervision; run events on time and per guidelines.
• Supervise youth during off-grounds field trips; ensure safety and conduct.
• Provide structure before departure and ensure adherence to dress code for outings.
• Develop recreation schedules and treatment plans addressing youth needs.
• Support youth who have suffered trauma to build skills and hope for a brighter future.
• Act as a positive role model and help clients overcome effects of trauma.
