Job summary

Covenant House New Orleans is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support youth experiencing homelessness. This part-time weekend overnight role focuses on building trust, promoting life skills, and coordinating access to housing, education, employment, and healthcare.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with at least one year of relevant experience. Weekend shifts (11 PM–7:30 AM) are required, with additional weekday availability welcomed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 1+ year experience with youth or in human services.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with youth through supportive interactions.
• Support youth in accessing housing, education, employment, healthcare, and mental health services.
• Promote life skills development and independent living skills.
• Document incidents and progress in agency systems with confidentiality.
