Covenant House New Orleans is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support youth experiencing homelessness. The role concentrates on building trust, promoting life skills, and coordinating access to housing, education, and healthcare in a trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
At least 1 year of experience working with youth or related field.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and evenings.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care preferred.

Responsabilités

Build positive, trusting relationships with youth through respectful interactions.
Use trauma-informed practices to engage youth.
Create a safe, welcoming environment promoting stability and belonging.
Support youth in developing life skills and independent living.
Assist youth in accessing housing, education, employment, healthcare, and mental health services.
Document incidents and progress in appropriate systems.
Collaborate with staff and community partners to support youth goals.
