Job summary

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada seeks a full-time Staff Attorney to provide compassionate, trauma-informed advocacy for survivors of violent crime. The attorney will represent survivors in civil matters, enforce rights under Marcy’s Law, seek protection orders, and assist with landlord, credit, and other civil issues.

Housed in the Resiliency & Justice Center, the role offers training, supervision, and professional development in trauma-informed advocacy, civil litigation, and victims’

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing in any US jurisdiction or eligible for Nevada licensure.
• Newly licensed or limited experience acceptable; internships or clinics valued.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with trauma survivors.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal representation to survivors in civil matters, including rights under Marcy's Law.
• Pursue protection orders, engage with landlords, and address other civil issues for survivors.
• Assist survivors of human trafficking with related matters such as vacatur/record sealing and credit issues.
• Engage in outreach to connect survivors with legal assistance and educate the community on victims' rights.
