Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada seeks a full-time Staff Attorney to advocate for survivors of violent crime with trauma-informed, zealous representation. The attorney will handle civil matters, including enforcing rights under Marcy’s Law, protection orders, and housing issues, with emphasis on survivors of trafficking and related civil concerns.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in any US jurisdiction or eligible for Nevada licensure.
• Experience in civil rights or victims’ rights preferred.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Ability to work with survivors of trauma and provide compassionate advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal representation to survivors in civil matters, including enforcement of rights under Marcy’s Law.
• Advocate on protection orders against stalking, landlord interventions, and other civil issues for survivors of violent crime.
• Provide specialized assistance to survivors of human trafficking in relevant matters.
• Participate in outreach to connect survivors with legal services and educate the community about victims’ rights.
