Job Overview

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a visionary, compassionate, and dynamic leader to oversee the operations of our Resiliency & Justice Center. Formerly known as the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, the Resiliency & Justice Center is a multi-agency resource dedicated to serving all survivors of crime, emergency responders, and those impacted by the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting and other mass casualty events.

The Resiliency Center provides advocacy and support services, legal aid, referral navigation, and behavior health resources to help individuals and communities heal and recover in the aftermath of tragedy. In addition, the Resiliency Center partners with Clark County and local governments to coordinate victim support services in the event of a mass casualty incident.

With a mission focused on fostering strength, healing, and resiliency, the Resiliency Center helps survivors access critical resources and long-term support. The Resiliency & Justice Center has also been designated as Nevada’s statewide victim assistance center, extending services and support to victims and communities throughout the state. The Resiliency Center is the proud recipient of the 2026 – Tadini Bacigalupi Jr. Award from the National Organization for Victim Advocacy, the 2023 Allied Professional Award from the Congressional Crime Survivors and Justice Caucus, and the 2021 National Crime Victim Service Award from the Department of Justice’s Office of Victims of Crime.

• A visionary leader dedicated to advancing a more just system in which survivors of crime are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion and have access to the resources they need to heal and recover.
• An experienced attorney with at least ten years of legal practice preferred, including experience managing staff, collaborating with emergency management and behavioral health partners, overseeing complex projects, and working with senior leadership and community stakeholders.
• Deeply committed to our mission, with demonstrated experience serving survivors of crime or other vulnerable individuals. The successful candidate will be client-centered, empathetic, trauma-informed, and motivated by achieving meaningful outcomes for those we serve.
• Able to strongly support and collaborate with co-located Resiliency Center partners to incorporate the provision of behavioral health services to victims of crime, whether a mass incident or single crime, and the continuation of a delivery system of robust victim services as a component of emergency management.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in any United States jurisdiction. Attorneys relocating to Nevada may qualify for special licensing authorization to provide legal services through Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the direction and operations of the Resiliency & Justice Center, ensuring that each survivor of violence receives the services they need to heal, including advocacy services, legal services, resource navigation, and behavioral health. Oversee all Legal Aid Center staff and collaborate and support co-located partners, ensuring that the partner has the tools they need to operate successfully.
• Represent the Resiliency Center in national, state, and local efforts to:
• Conceptualize and guide the development of ways to expand and improve services to victims of crime,
• Expand and strengthen emergency management efforts to support victims and emergency responders, especially in the aftermath of mass incidents,
• Identify ways to improve laws and policies to support victims of crime
• Promote resiliency in the community in the aftermath of violence in collaboration with community partners, emergency responders, law enforcement, and government.
• Develop new and innovative legal service delivery programs to victims, including victims of human trafficking, shootings, domestic violence, and other crimes, with a view towards helping populations who have traditionally not received assistance.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary range is $95,000.00-$130,000.00 yearly dependent upon experience with annual increases available. Our excellent benefits effective on date of hire include 100% employer paid health insurance for an employee, spouse/legal domestic partner, and dependents up to 26 years old, a generous paid time off policy and flex work options after training is complete. A 403b match dollar for dollar up to 5% of an employee’s salary after 12 months of employment, reasonable relocation benefits and 12 weeks paid parental leave after one year of employment.
