Job summary

Summit Pointe seeks a SUD Counselor in Battle Creek, MI. The role provides individual and group counseling, discharge planning, risk assessment, and care linkage while maintaining confidential records and following trauma-informed practices.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a human services field, CADC/DP-C or progress toward it, and at least one year of related experience, plus basic computer skills and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field is required.
• One year of specialized training or experience in working with substance use disorders.
• CADC/DP-C or ability to obtain within 30 days with agency support.
• One year of computer experience—Word, Excel, and EMR software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group counseling and discharge planning.
• Performs risk assessment and connects clients to care.
• Maintains records compliant with agency standards using EMR or paper formats.
• Participates in supervision and quality improvement activities.
• Ensures confidentiality per federal/state laws and guidelines.
