Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to implement trauma-informed instruction aligned to SOLs and students’ IEP goals. You will deliver differentiated, data-driven lessons in a structured classroom that promotes safety, dignity, and student engagement.

As part of a team, you will monitor progress, collaborate with families, and ensure compliance with IEP timelines while integrating KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or SPED endorsement.
Licensure must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Develop lesson plans aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
Differentiate instruction for varied needs.
Implement evidence-based strategies and social-emotional supports.
Embed communication development and social thinking into daily lessons.
Maintain a structured master classroom schedule and collaborate with staff.
Document attendance, progress, and required reports.
