Job summary

Shiloh House in Centennial, CO is seeking a dedicated teacher to provide direct instruction to students 225 days a year and implement approved curricula.

The role requires a Colorado teaching license or Substitute license, a Bachelor's degree, strong behavior management and trauma-informed practices, plus the ability to organize and lead other teachers and paraprofessionals. Knowledge of IEPs and special education laws is preferred.

Qualifications

• Colorado teaching license or Substitute Teaching License.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience and strong skills in behavior management.
• Strong classroom management skills and trauma-informed practices.
• Ability to organize and direct other teachers and paraprofessionals.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team, parents and other professionals.
• Knowledge of IEPs and special education laws.
• Experience working with autistic students preferred but not required.
• Special Education Endorsement preferred; required if applying for SPED position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct teaching to students 225 days of the year.
• Plan and implement approved curriculum.
• Draw up and maintain approved individual written lesson plans.
• Supervise students in lunch room/cafeteria during rotations.
• Supervise support staff in the classroom and enlist special skills as needed.
• Fulfill requirements for ongoing education (TTE/SEE).
• Work with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues from trauma and neglect.
