Job summary

Shiloh House is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join its new Day Treatment Program serving students with significant social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in Colorado. The role focuses on trauma-informed, therapeutic education within a collaborative team including clinicians and families.

You will develop individualized instruction, monitor IEPs, and coordinate with multiple partners to help students progress academically and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Colorado Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
• Experience with students experiencing behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges.
• Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and educational compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students throughout the school year.
• Develop and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans aligned with approved curriculum standards.
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Support students with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and educational challenges.
• Collaborate with clinicians, families, school districts, and treatment team members.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Track academic progress and maintain educational documentation.
• Supervise classroom support staff and effectively utilize team members' skills and strengths.
• Utilize trauma-informed and behaviorally focused interventions to support student success.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and required trainings.
• Assist with supervision of students during assigned activities and transitions.
