Job summary

City Rescue Mission Inc is seeking a Shelter Advocate to provide direct care within a housing-focused shelter for men, women, and children. The role involves welcoming clients, conducting intake, and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

You will support day-to-day shelter operations, document client information in the agency database, and collaborate with Case Management and other teams to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting people experiencing homelessness or related challenges.
• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse individuals.
• Ability to manage intake processes and data entry accurately.
• Comfort with teamwork and collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new clients and assess immediate needs.
• Complete intake paperwork and enter data into the agency database.
• Monitor dorms and shelter activities to maintain safety.
• Coordinate with Case Management, Recovery, Vocational, and other teams.
• Assist with daily shelter operations and client support activities.
