Job summary

Child & Family Service seeks a Shelter Services Advocate to support participants in a residential shelter in Ewa Beach, HI, focusing on trauma-informed care, safety, and basic-needs fulfillment. The role requires evening and weekend availability and collaboration with a caring team.

Under supervision, you will help individuals heal from trauma, promote healthy relationships, and empower participants to live independently while maintaining high safety standards within the shelter program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and trauma-informed care is highly desired.
• Ability to engage, empower, and communicate effectively with survivors from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work evenings, overnight and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promote an environment that supports empowerment and safety in the shelter.
• Ensure basic needs (food, clothing, shelter) are met and participants are supported.
• Provide trauma-informed engagement and services to help participants heal from trauma.
