Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) operates Hampton Academy, delivering trauma-focused educational support for children and adolescents aged 6 and up. The program aims to help students return to their sending districts after addressing anxiety, school avoidance, and socio-emotional needs.

The role includes organizing and supervising students, assisting with de-escalation, and supporting arrivals, field trips, and classroom tasks. Strong communication with teachers and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years experience with special needs children at middle/high school level.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
• Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate practices.
• Criminal history check and work authorization in the U.S. required.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and supervises students in all settings.
• Assists in de-escalation of students.
• Assists with arrival and dismissal of students.
• Assists students with various projects, crafts, and curriculum tasks.
• Supervises children during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Informs staff of serious infractions of discipline rules.
