Job summary

The Touchstone at Maya Angelou Schools is seeking a School Social Worker to join the Clinical Services Department, providing direct individual, group, and family clinical interventions for students. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to remove barriers to instruction and support emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field is required.
• License (LISW) is required.
• OSSE certification is strongly preferred and must be secured within a year of hire.
• Experience with positive youth development, clinical assessment, and strengths-based prevention/intervention is expected.
• Experience in community-based mental health, family health/mental health, or public school settings is desirable.
• Experience supervising graduate mental health interns is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly behavioral support services (individual and group counseling) to students.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Chief of Student Support Services to deliver targeted group counseling interventions.
• Assess clinical service gaps and connect with external resources to address them.
• Administer pre/post assessments (e.g., resilience scales) timely.
• Provide crisis intervention and triage referrals as needed.
• Develop and deliver the YALC Wellness Course.
• Collaborate with community-based agencies to provide clinical and case management support.
• Perform weekly outreach to keep students engaged with programs.
