Job summary

Volunteer-Behavioral-Health-Care-System is seeking a School Based Behavioral Health Liaison to support MTSS-informed practices within Overton County schools. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Behavioral Sciences and can work within school schedules, offering trauma-informed training and psychoeducation to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology).
• Prefer experience in a school setting.
• Ability to work remotely as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and education to school personnel in trauma-informed approaches and behavioral health topics.
• Support and consult with teachers in implementing school-wide trauma-informed practices.
• Facilitate a School Climate Activity in each school served.
• Conduct individual student interventions and psychoeducation, and provide classroom support when requested.
• Deliver psychoeducational groups on mental health issues, substance use/abuse, and stress management.
• Screen students and consult with staff for mental/behavioral health needs, including participation in IEP/504 meetings.
• Arrange referrals for services and provide direct services as needed.
• Maintain regular schedule (40 hours weekly on-site), keep logs, and report totals monthly.
• Ensure informed consent and compliance with legal/ethical standards; participate in grant team meetings and trainings.
