Job summary

BJC HealthCare seeks a PRN SANE Clinical Nurse through the Central Staffing Office to provide forensic nursing care for patients experiencing sexual assault across its regional hospital network. This role offers on-call flexibility and cross-hospital opportunities within the system.

As part of a trauma-informed program, you will work in trauma settings, travel between hospitals, receive a $15/hour float differential, and participate in ongoing education and wellness initiatives that support

Qualifications

• Current RN license with 1–2 years of acute care experience.
• Completion of adult 40-hour SANE training program required.
• Willingness to travel between BJC hospital entities.
• Ability to respond to on-call needs and adapt to changing care environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, communication, and clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Advocate, coordinate, and collaborate with patient, family, and interprofessional team in assessing needs and planning interventions.
• Communicate with patient, family, and care providers to ensure culturally sensitive and humane decisions.
• Apply medical-surgical nursing standards to monitor and manage acutely ill patients in a highly technical environment.
• Prioritize medical and mental health care for varying acuity; respond to life-threatening conditions.
• Maintain safety as a safety-sensitive position.
