Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to provide trauma-informed medical forensic services to sexual assault survivors. This role requires strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to regulatory standards.

Candidates must have BSN or ADN with plan to obtain BSN, IL RN licensure, and completion of SANE training; preferred certifications and ACLS/TNCC/PALS are valued.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification at hire.
• Completion of the IL SANE Clinical Training Program within 1 year of hire.
• IAFN 40-hour didactic class completion.
• IL SANE Clinical Training Log completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed medical forensic services to sexual assault survivors.
• Perform exams, evidence collection, counseling, and referrals.
• Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with SASETA and state regulations.
• Testify in court as needed and assist SANEs in proceedings.
• Educate survivors and families; participate in program development and QA.
