Job summary

The Safety Associate I at Colorado Coalition for the Homeless supports staff, clients, and visitors across designated Colorado locations. This role emphasizes de-escalation, crisis prevention, and a trauma-informed approach to safety while fostering a respectful environment.

Working Wed-Sun 11am-7pm, you will conduct safety inspections, intervene in potentially dangerous situations, document incidents, and collaborate with local emergency services as needed to protect people and property.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of sites to ensure a safe environment.
• Assess and intervene to prevent escalating situations.
• Escort staff as needed to maintain safety.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures and policies.
• Provide crisis intervention with de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed.
• Document and report incidents involving safety concerns.
• Participate in ongoing safety and de-escalation training.
