Job summary

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Safety Associate I to ensure the safety of clients, staff, vendors, volunteers and visitors at assigned locations. This role emphasizes de-escalation, crisis prevention and a trauma-informed approach while promoting a safe environment.

The Safety Associate I is not law enforcement but a proactive safety professional supporting CCH staff and residents. The position works Wed-Sun 11 pm to 7 am, focusing on responding to incidents, enforcing safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned Coalition sites to ensure a safe environment.
• Assess potentially dangerous situations and intervene to prevent escalation.
• Escort employees as needed to promote staff safety.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with CCH safety procedures and visitor policies.
• Provide crisis intervention using de-escalation methodologies with a trauma-informed approach.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed.
• Document and submit reports on incidents involving safety concerns.
• Participate in ongoing safety and de-escalation training.
• Maintain up-to-date records and use company systems as directed.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, team-oriented work environment.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention methods.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
