Job summary

GAAMHA, Inc. is seeking a Recovery Specialist to support residents at Sunrise Ridge, a trauma-informed recovery home for women.

This role focuses on guidance, oversight, and hands-on support to help residents build stable futures within a safe, structured environment. You will lead recovery programming, supervise daily activities, and coordinate transportation and advocacy to services while upholding mandated reporting and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential treatment, peer recovery coaching, or behavioral health settings.
• Strong communication and compassion to build trust and accountability.
• If you have lived experience, at least one year of continuous sobriety is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based documentation platforms such as Kipu.
• Valid driver’s license to transport residents as needed.
• Must pass CORI and Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support Program & Activities: ensure residents follow routines and participate in recovery programming.
• Medication Oversight: monitor adherence and document medication administration and disposal.
• Facilitate Groups: lead recovery-focused discussions and document participation.
• Wellness & Safety Checks: perform headcounts and checks to maintain a safe environment.
• Document & Communicate: complete shift notes, logs, and incident reports; share during shifts.
• Provide Transportation & Advocacy: accompany residents to appointments and court hearings; advocate for their needs.
• Foster Safe & Inclusive Environment: maintain trauma-informed, gender-responsive setting.
• Work with Pregnant & Postpartum Residents: support balancing recovery with parenting needs.
• Ensure Compliance & Mandated Reporting: enforce safety policies and reporting requirements.
• Promote GAAMHA’s Mission: represent Sunrise Ridge and GAAMHA professionally.
