Job summary

GAAMHA is seeking a Recovery Specialist to support residents at Sunrise Ridge, a trauma-informed recovery home for women with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

You will guide, supervise, and document care, help residents follow routines, oversee medication, lead groups, and advocate for their needs within the community. This role emphasizes safety and inclusion while collaborating with a dedicated Sunrise Ridge team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in residential treatment or behavioral health settings.
  • Excellent communication and compassionate approach.
  • At least one year of sobriety if you have lived experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based documentation (Kipu).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CORI and Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background checks required.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents in daily routines and recovery-based programming.
  • Oversee medication adherence and document administration.
  • Lead recovery-focused group discussions.
  • Perform wellness checks and maintain a secure environment.
  • Document shift notes, medication logs, and incident reports.
  • Provide transportation and advocacy for appointments and court hearings.
  • Foster trauma-informed, gender-responsive housing.
  • Support pregnant and postpartum residents with counseling, visits, child welfare meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and mandated reporting.
  • Represent Sunrise Ridge and GAAMHA professionally.
