Hygea Healthcare is hiring a Substance Use Counselor to support individuals in recovery at our 50‑bed detox facility in Middle River, MD. You will provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence‑based practices and ASAM‑guided level‑of‑care determinations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Human Services or Addictions; bachelor’s preferred.
• Licensed or certified SUD counselor licenses listed in job posting.
• Experience in SUD treatment, detox preferred.
• Crisis management skills for client safety and de‑escalation.
• Collaborative team player with a mission to foster positive change.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling sessions.
• Utilize evidence‑based modalities to support recovery and relapse prevention.
• Conduct confidential assessments using ASAM criteria to determine level of care.
• Work with a diverse Hygea Healthcare treatment team to support clients.
• Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance clinical skills.
