Ramsey County Public Health is seeking a Health Educator to develop, implement, and evaluate community educational programs in collaboration with the Clinical Services Division. This grant-funded role works with Justice-Involved Individuals, individuals who use substances, and unhoused populations, with trauma-informed approaches and potential collaboration with Syringe Service Programs.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in health sciences, education, behavioral sciences or a related field.
• Two years of experience in public health education, public health nursing, community organizing or a closely related field.
• Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Certifications/Licensure: None.

Mansioni

• Perform community health assessments and identify areas of need; prepare reports.
• Develop contacts and partnerships with community agencies and schools for health education activities.
• Participate in department task forces; coordinate with health organizations for program design.
• Create educational materials (web resources, brochures, posters, newsletters, slides) for diverse communities; translate materials as needed.
• Develop and conduct training sessions for county staff and partner organizations on public health issues.
• Organize and conduct health education meetings and conferences for community groups.
• Prepare publicity materials for public health education activities and appear on media when needed.
• Maintain health information resources for staff use and external inquiries.
• Assist in compiling statistical and narrative sections of annual reports and program funding recommendations.
• Respond to public inquiries about health services and resources.
