Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Behavioral Health Education Specialist II to provide direct patient care and develop treatment education plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include leading educational programming, facilitating social-emotional learning, and applying TBRI/TCI techniques to support patients while ensuring accurate Epic documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, family studies or related field (education is verified).
• Ability to obtain Colorado Department of Education substitute license within 6 months of hire.
• Skills pass of Special Education Training on IEP reading and implementation provided by the Special Education Supervisor.
• Demonstrated experience in the practice of de-escalating negative behaviors and creating safe environments.
• Demonstrated experience in Behavioral Health, Special Education and Early Childhood Education.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for critical and time sensitive daily documentation.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Positive driving record, valid Colorado driver's license.
• Basic Life Support and First Aid within 90 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Leads a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment by collaborating and effectively communicating with the multidisciplinary treatment team and providing culturally sensitive care in accordance with the care/treatment plan.
• Independently initiates and assists the Special Education Teacher with planning, instruction and facilitation in all areas of educational programming.
• Facilitates social emotional learning within the classroom and assists the Special Education Teacher in academic instruction.
• Facilitates group content including educational activities, goal setting, relaxation, skill building, and psycho educational activities.
• Uses Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to teach and manage emotions and behaviors.
• Recognizes critical situations and drives collaboration between the multidisciplinary team to create new interventions and supports.
• Responds to patient crises through crisis response interventions up to and including physical restraint per policy.
• Documents patient care interventions in Epic and mentors peers on documentation and intervention.
• May float to other classrooms or departments based on business need.
