Job summary

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a Program Manager to supervise daily operations, ensure trauma-informed youth programming, and coordinate with clinical, nursing, education, and leadership teams. The role emphasizes staff coaching, scheduling, and compliant documentation.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and certifications related to child services. On-site leadership and coordination with guardians are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, or related field.
• Experience in program management and supervision.
• Ability to implement trauma-informed approaches and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day program operations and schedules.
• Maintains trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate environment.
• Coaches staff on treatment plans and supports.
• Develops structured program schedules and activities.
• Secures supplies and equipment for activities.
• Fosters youth voice and age-appropriate responsibilities.
• Builds relationships with guardians to support engagement.
• Assists Program Director with hiring and onboarding.
• Trains and supervises staff for safe practice.
• Assesses staff competencies and targeted coaching.
• Escalates performance concerns with documentation.
• Educates staff on youth treatment needs and trauma-informed care.
• Leads staff meetings to align priorities and follow-through.
• Monitors morale and promotes positive team culture.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation (incident reports, etc.).
• Delivers required staff documentation to HR and Finance.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and agency property.
• Manages program funds and requisitions with receipts.
• Provides on-site supervisor coverage as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of client information.
• Participates in meetings and trainings for professional growth.
• Keeps Agency policy files current.
• Maintains CCG certification and trainer role for safety protocols.
• Maintains boundaries with youth and families per ethics.
• Promotes diversity and inclusion in the program environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
